No more language barrier in China for Indian MBBS students
China is undoubtedly an economic giant in the world and much of its progress can be attributed to the high standards of education it offers to the students’ community in every sphere of learning. Since 2003, when China opened its gates to foreign medical students, the global rush for Chinese schools of medicine has continued unabated. You might ask, how many of these universities use the language of English as a medium of teaching? It is difficult to pinpoint each and every one of them, but there are quite a few leading medical schools in China that are widely known for their well-crafted MBBS courses in English.
However, according to the Chinese Ministry of Education, only 45 universities are allowed to offer MBBS degrees in English and, obviously, they admit foreign students, including Indians.
Like in most countries, medical education in China has a five-year duration. One year additionally is earmarked for internship, which has to be completed to earn a final degree. For admission, Indian students would have to produce their NEET scorecard.
Apart from this, the Chinese medical colleges have world-class faculty that include Indian teachers.
